Meet Cindy.
Writer and excavator of untold histories.
My Approach
Finding the uncommon
I am a treasure hunter. Unsung heroines, lost warrior princesses, silenced Indigenous voices- unearthing these stories and delivering them to a wider audience is fundamental to who I am as a storyteller.
Uncovering hidden histories is a passion: people of color, ostracized women, and gender and neurodiverse communities deserve to be reinstated into the astonishing, bizarre, inspiring tales we tell.

What judges are saying:
"What a fascinating world to write a show about. Seondeok is a great lead character and I love her journey. Think she’s both a brilliant historical figure to focus on, but she’s also written really nicely on the page too. Her circumstances are made so clear, and how she rubs up against them, and it gives us such a clear arc to attach ourselves too. Especially when that world is so epic, it would be easy to get lost in the size of everything. But she shines really brightly in the midst of it all."

"Honestly, I was prepared to not like this one from the get-go. Sino-Roman wars, Korean-China conflict, and set in a time period that is extremely difficult to pull off. However, Cindy’s character work is top-notch, and I am really interested to see where this would go as a series. Cindy handles the politics, the intrigue, and the mystery of what the Romans are really after very well."
